Sovol SV08 3D Printer

This machine was built with great care. The design is fantastic. The engineering that went into this machine is top notch. Bringing something of this quality, open source, and at this price to the market is amazing. You guys are my new favorite printing company.
I did purchase the Comgrow version because I preferred the black plastic parts which will be easier to make custom color schemes much easier and cleaner.
The complaints about the fan being loud are a bit whiny in my opinion. I don't think they are that bad. And the complaints about getting it on WIFI are whiny as well. It was very simple and took about 1 min. to do. No big deal. The instructions were fantastic.
I am very, very happy with this purchase. I've owned about 15 different machines and this is by far my favorite one I have purchased. I am excited to start the modifications. Not that he needs them, but it is just fun to do.

I'm gonna start this off by saying, I like this printer quite a bit. Large print area, great print quality, as fast as you could want, great accuracy on prints, fairly low maintenance ( As long as you don't modify it, at least externally. I downloaded and customized some macros and print settings to help with consistency). This was the first printer I had ordered, and shipping took a few months. I didn't mind, after doing some research into what made it special compared to some others. A Core-XY printer, for under $1k? And I don't have to fully assemble it myself and wire everything? Radical. Ordered it in may, didn't receive it til July. Well, while waiting for it to ship, I saw a Bambu-labs A1 from Microcenter on a good deal and thought it couldn't hurt to have 2 printers, since I've got the space. So I bought it. I came home, set it up, did all the calibrations for it through Orcaslicer and started printing stuff accurately in a day. When the SV-08 arrived, The box was maybe a half inch bigger than the A1, Setup took about twice as long, considering it's a little more in-depth than the A1. But, I have experience putting together computers, servers and some raspberry pi stuff. After getting the SV-08 put together, I noticed the power button was flipped upside down and wouldn't light up. Not a huge deal, it still turned on. I followed their calibration guide, everything went very smoothly. My only gripe is with Z-offset Calibration. In the beginning I would notice that the first layer height would be all over the place, making me have to do a z-offset calibration before every print. I think I've got it fixed for now, but after reading some posts in an SV-08 Facebook group, it seems some peoples print bed has a heating and tension issue. This is fixable, but I believe voids your warranty. I have very little experience with customer support, besides annoying them with emails asking when its going to ship Lol. My bed mesh comes out great, after some trial and error. It likes a 5-10 minute bed soak, I usually do mine at 55c. I highly encourage anyone that gets this printer to join a group on Facebook, Discord (Not the Sovol discord though, they required me to link a crypto wallet to talk in any chat, I ain't doing that for a 3d printer.) any kind of community, just so you have some helping hands.

It's a good printer.
As long as you know that you need to counter up 'taco-bed issue', which is an easy fix of supporting it in the middle under the bed, it works great. Use normal paper-method for z-offset afterwards and do some macros tweak as described by gergo. I get stable long running big prints (>14h each) from PLA.

Don't close enclosure doors if you're printing PLA, otherwise it might soften and jam extruder.
Nozzle heats extremely fast.

Either way, you get a voron clone at a half voron price. I can recommend.

Toujours un plaisir de monter les machines Sovol. Tout est bien emballé sa se monte vraiment bien et sa fonctionne a merveille. A se prix la faite vous plaisir.

First impressions are very good, only big issue is the "Taco" bed, which is curved to the sides (0,8-1,1) mm which is a big bummer.
