Impressora 3D SOVOL SV07

Moving to the SV07 from Ender 3 was a huge improvement, way less setup, better and faster prints, I did mess up the linux installation in the beginning but was able to flash a new image (!DO NOT UPDATE THE LINUX!)

The first printer came defective. I sent an email only to learn that they only respond between 9pm and 4 am. Fine I accepted that and decided since I needed the printer I would order another and simply return the defective one so I could start my project. Second printer defective and by this time I recieved an email stating they wouldn't return the product until they have reviewed the issues. Mind you they are giving me the instructions in the middle of the night to diagnosis the printer. So a week later still have 2 defective printers, no response and no refunds or away to return the printer.

66 and decided to teach myself 3D printing and scanning so I did my research and came up with a Scanner and Printer. They both were from the same company, not sure how but the Scanner is awesome!! The Printer was a joke, would not print on the left side of platen and would only print on the right if I Sliced object on far far left it would then print on far far right; after 7 emails, 2 videos, pics and hand drawings I finally just gave the printer to the homeless guy at the freeway I take everyday. So you can see what I had to work with, it took 3 days to unbox this; I almost quit, scanning kept it fun TG. Now for the Sovol, Wow this is the difference between a 3D printer and a hot glue gun with a brain. This thing reminds me of a Fadal CNC I worked on when I was younger, now I fix them. Don't put it on a table that walks because it will. The only complaint so far is a Biggy for me but won't be for others is " I wish they would fire the 1st graders doing the Wire harnessing. I am already looking for ribbon cable to rewire it myself. That is it for the -'s. I am not kidding this thing is cool. Now I work Machine Maintenance so have good knowledge on start up and running of various machines. I really don't want to say this but this machine is not for a rookie, you need a little knowledge. If you are like me 0% 3D printing knowledge think about this, it helped me. What I did is bought a (it would be EASY to tell you the brand but I can't) little 4" printer and beat the tar out of it. It taught me well now with this printer I can't wait to see what I come up with, SIZE is the only limit and it is pretty big! HOPE THIS HELPS.

Purchased the SV07 from the website in Dec 2024. Delivery was fairly prompt (minor weather related delays). Assembly and setup was straight forward. Klipper interface took some time to get familiar, but was very intuitive for the most part when used to a marlin based environment. Print quality is very good and very fast with Sovol Cura config transferred to latest Cura release. Time estimates are not accurate however; Add an hour for each two hours estimate printing, even so printing time still almost 50% less than my marlin machine. Switched to Orca-slicer several weeks after receiving the printer and used Cris Vicks SV07 profiles and Klipper additions. WOW! Time estimate now within a couple of minutes. Machine performs exceptionally well. Little hick-up in startup saying "unable get printer info from moonraker" but wait for retry button prompt on klipper screen and all works fine. A Lot of opinions that the pom wheel design a step backward for Sovol but it works really well and put my linear rail marlin machine to shame in both quality and speed. So far I am very happy with this purchase.
